Admissions and Outreach
Applying to higher education is an important journey in a student’s life, and we are here to support students through the admissions process. There are various steps that must be completed before you apply; after you have applied, and once admission decisions are made. This page will help navigate the journey to joining the Hornet Family.
The application process takes place twice a year:
- Spring 2025 Application Period: Available August 1, 2024
- Fall 2025 Application Period: Available October 1, 2024
Meet With an Admissions Counselor
For many students, speaking with an Admissions Counselor is a valuable step to take to ensure you are on the right path to admissions. For in-depth questions and advising services, please schedule an appointment with a Sacramento State Admissions Counselor.
After You Have Applied for Admission
Make sure to take the next steps to remain eligible for admission.
- Set up My Sac State account
- Schedule a campus tour
- Submit an application correction form (if needed):
- Complete additional steps:
After Admission Decisions are Made
Make sure to thoroughly review all the next steps to maintain eligibility to the university.
- Accept/ Decline admission by completing your Intent to Enroll:
- Fall semester by May 1
- Spring semester by November 27
- Check your To-Do list on My Sac State, Student Center
- Complete Pre-Hornet Orientation before attending New Student Orientation
- Complete additional steps:
